Axemen Ink Defensive Back

November 9, 2015 - Bemidji, MN- The Minnesota Axemen have signed Defensive Back Melvin Taveras. Taveras (SDSU, 5'11, 185 lbs.) signs with the Axemen after participating in mini-camp with the Minnesota Vikings this past June. Taveras played two seasons at South Dakota State University, where he was fourth in tackles his senior season along with leading the team with three interceptions. November 4, 2015 - Bemidji, MN - The Minnesota Axemen have signed Dominic Rufran for the upcoming 2016 season. Rufran (Wyoming, 6'0", 188 lbs.) is a wide receiver from The University of Wyoming, with total career stats of 2,487 total yards, 15 touchdowns and 203 career catches. Axemen Re-Sign Six

November 3, 2015 - Bemidji, MN - The Minnesota Axemen announce the re-signing of six players from last season's team: Tony Grimes, Antoine Tharpe, Neemia Vitale, Henry Orelus, Rony Nelson, and William "Big Tex" Slade. Grimes (University of Hawaii, 6'0", 184 lbs.) played in 13 games for the Axemen last season, where he led the team in total tackles (73) and tied for the most pass-breakups on the team. November 2, 2015 - Bemidji, MN- The Minnesota Axemen announced that they have traded for former University of Nebraska/Northern Iowa Quarterback Brion Carnes.
