Columbia Gains Split with 3-2 Win in 10

July 26, 2016 - The Columbia Fireflies had only two hits, but came away with a 3-2, 10-inning win over the Lexington Legends Tuesday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The win gave Columbia a split of the four-game series. Vicente Lupo's solo homer in the second inning put Columbia in front, and the Fireflies added a second run in the fourth on a leadoff walk to Tucker Tharp, a passed ball and a double by Eudor Garcia. July 25, 2016 - Columbia starter Joe Shaw held the Lexington Legends hitless until the seventh inning, and the Fireflies scored early on their way to an 8-2 win Monday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. For the second straight game, Dash Winningham hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Fireflies the lead. July 24, 2016 - Travis Maezes hit a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Lexington Legends a 12-11 win over the Columbia Fireflies in front of 7,406 fans Sunday afternoon at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. July 23, 2016 - The Lexington Legends scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back on their way to an 8-2 win over the Columbia Fireflies in front of 8,123 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday night. D.J. Burt led off the bottom of the first with a bunt single. He moved to second on a sacrifice by Marten Gasparini and scored on a base hit by Amalani Fukofuka.
