January 14, 2017 - CHARLOTTE, NC - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, were defeated by the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC, by a final score of 5-3. With the loss, the Monsters fell to 17-14-1-3 overall this season and with a .543 points percentage, remain alone in fourth place in the AHL's Central Division standings. January 14, 2017 - CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Saturday that fourth-year goaltender Anton Forsberg was added to the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets' roster on emergency recall. In a corresponding move, the Monsters also announced Saturday that second-year net-minder Steve Summerhays signed a 25-game professional tryout contract with the club. January 11, 2017 - CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Wednesday that sixth-year right wing Shawn Szydlowski signed a professional tryout contract with the club. A 6'0", 209 lb., undrafted native of St. Clair Shores, MI, Szydlowski posted five penalty minutes in five appearances with the Monsters during the 2014-15 season and currently ranks second in the ECHL in goals and points this year, tallying 21-28-49 with 56 penalty minutes and a +11 rating in 31 appe...
