Winterhawks Take Season Opener 7-3 over Seattle

September 24, 2016 - The Portland Winterhawks (1-0) opened the season with a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds (0-1) Saturday at the Moda Center in front of 8,705 fans. Not only was it a win in the first game of the season, it was the first win for Vice President, General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston in his return to the Hawks' bench. Fighting Saints Turn the Tables on RoughRiders

September 24, 2016 - CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Down 1-0 for most of the contest, the Dubuque Fighting Saints got the game-tying goal midway through the third period, and the game-winner under two minutes into overtime from rookie defenseman Jacob Semik. The Saints topped the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 2-1 on Saturday night from The Stable. The game was largely kept in check by goaltender Jaxon Castor, who played rock solid in net for Dubuque.
