Collin Shirley Named Kamloops Blazers Captain

August 24, 2016 - Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have announced that 20-year-old Collin Shirley has been named Captain of the 2016-17 Kamloops Blazers. "I'm thrilled, excited and honoured to be the captain of the Blazers," said Shirley. "I look forward to the challenges ahead and can't wait to get the season started." Shirley was acquired by the Blazers in October 2013 from the Kootenay Ice. He has played a total of 274 WHL games, including 203 with the Kamloops Blazers, over the past four seasons. Philadelphia to Host 2016 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction

August 23, 2016 - For the first time ever, Philadelphia will be the site of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, it was announced today by USA Hockey. In cooperation with the Philadelphia Flyers and Atlantic District of USA Hockey, the 2016 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration is set for Nov. 30 in the City of Brotherly Love. Magicians Acquire Forward Will Hammer

August 23, 2016 - The Minnesota Magicians have acquired forward Will Hammer in a trade with the Aberdeen Wings. Hammer is a veteran of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with over 100 games played over the past two seasons in Aberdeen. A St. Cloud, Minnesota native, Hammer played four years of varsity hockey at St. Cloud Cathedral of the Minnesota State High School.
