Ducks Ink Former Major Leaguer Nick Heath
March 28, 2024 - (Central Islip, N.Y.) - The Long Island Ducks today announced the signing of outfielder Nick Heath. He begins his first season with the Ducks, second in the Atlantic League and ninth in professional baseball. "Nick does a great job getting on base, and his speed is a tremendous asset on the basepaths and in the outfield," said Ducks Manager Lew Ford. "We are excited to add him to the roster." Jordan Leasure Becomes First New Appalachian League Alum to Reach Major Leagues
March 28, 2024 - The Chicago White Sox announced Wednesday that right-handed reliever Jordan Leasure made the team's Opening Day roster. Leasure pitched for the Elizabethton River Riders in 2021 and is the first Appalachian League player to reach the Major Leagues since the league rebranded as a summer collegiate league in '21. Leasure, 25, secured a spot on Chicago's Opening Day roster after posting a 1.93 ERA in 10 relief appearances during Spring Training. March 28, 2024 - Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Growlers have announced the re-signing of 2023 Growlers Tanner Ware, Myles Beale, Joey Winters and Evan Rodriguez. Tanner Ware, a sophomore left-handed pitcher from Oakland University, returns to Kalamazoo after being the lone lefty in the Growlers 2023 rotation. Across 11 starts this past year, Ware struck out 34 batters while walking just 13, capturing a 2-4 record across 48.2 innings.
