History Is Made at Ontario Reign Game with First-Ever Father-Son

October 24, 2016 - ONTARIO -- History was made in the Ontario Reign's 5-4 overtime loss to the San Jose Barracuda on Oct. 22 at Citizens Business Bank Arena as the AHL's first-ever father-son goaltending duo took to the ice. Voice of the Komets Bob Chase Served as a Navy Cryptographer

October 24, 2016 - Bob Chase, known to thousands as the announcer for Komets hockey games, worked as a cryptographer, or code maker/breaker, for the U.S. Navy during World War II. "We could hardly wait to break codes when they came in," said Chase, 90, of Fort Wayne. "They were assigned security headings. If it was 'Confidential,' the content was not deemed important. Rockets Herringer Among WHL Weekly Award Winners

October 24, 2016 - Calgary, AB - The Western Hockey League announced today that Kelowna Rockets goaltender Michael Herringer has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week and the league nominee for Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 23, 2016. Herringer, a 20-year-old native of Comox, BC, went 3-0-0-0 this past week with a .924 save percentage and a 1.99 GAA.
