Mike Butala Retires

March 16, 2016 - The Harrisburg Heat have announced the retirement of longtime Equipment Manager Michael Butala, who also served this season as VP of Game Day Ops. Butala started with the Heat during its 1991 season and then resumed on its return in 2012. He's been assisted by his granddaughter Abby the past four seasons. "We always strived to do the best we could for the players, staff, and refs, whether they were our own or the opposition," said Butala. Heat Win to Conclude Season

March 4, 2016 - The Harrisburg Heat ended the 2015-16 season with an 8-6 victory in Syracuse. The Heat rallied from a 5-4 deficit with late 3rd quarter goals from Chris Williams and Val Teixeira. The rally continued into the fourth quarter with Marcos Chantel and Tyler Witmer scored goals 20 seconds apart to take an 8-5 lead. Antonio Manfut scored a late 6th attacker goal to cut the lead to 2, but the Heat held on with a strong goalkeeper performance by Tim Mehl, who recorded 18 saves. Heat Fall Short in OT

February 27, 2016 - The Harrisburg Heat blew a 6-5 lead with 30 seconds left to play in regulation, sending the game into overtime and falling short when Cedar Rapid's Alfee Robbins scored his second goal of the game. The Heat lost 7-6. The Heat got down early in the first quarter when Cedar Rapid's Alex Megson scored two early in the game. Heat Fall Short to Knigts

February 27, 2016 - The Heat blew a 4-3 halftime lead, giving up four straight third quarter goals. The Heat rallied to within one with under a minute to play on Tyler Witmer's second goal of the game. But, Syracuse goalkeeper Bryan O'Quinn held on down the stretch to secure the win. Val Teixeira and Patrick Thompson also had two goals apiece for the Heat. Joey Tavernese scored twice for Syracuse. Tim Mehl takes the loss in the net for the Heat, their 17th straight loss.
