Alex Burg Signed by Los Angeles Dodgers

February 18, 2018 - (Central Islip, N.Y.) - The Long Island Ducks today announced that catcher Alex Burg has been signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He will report to the team's spring training facility in Glendale, Ariz. "We are very happy for Alex to receive this terrific opportunity," said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. "He worked hard and handled his role well with us last year, and we wish him the best of luck with the Dodgers." Burg signed with the Ducks for the 2018 season on February 1. February 16, 2018 - GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the re-signings of right-handed pitcher Daniel Minor and left-handed pitcher Lars Liguori earlier in the week. Minor went 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA in seven games (six starts) with Gary after being traded from the Winnipeg Goldeyes to the RailCats on Aug. 10 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Charle Rosario. February 16, 2018 - WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced several transactions on Friday, including outfielder Josh Romanski signing with the Mexican League's Pericos de Puebla, as well as the retirements of outfielder David Rohm, first baseman Shawn Pleffner, and infielder Casey Turgeon. Romanski was the American Association's 2017 Player of the Year after hitting .324 with 11 home runs and 81 RBI in 98 games played.
