2016-2017 Chicago Steel Captains Announced

September 28, 2016 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Second-year forward Marc Johnstone has been named captain of the Chicago Steel. Four additional leaders were also named: Jake Jaremko and Austen Long will serve as alternate captains at home, while Matt Kiersted and Mitch Lewandowski will each wear an "A" on the road. September 17, 2016 - CRANBERRY TWP., PENNSYLVANIA - The Chicago Steel (4-1-1-0 preseason) closed the 2016-2017 preseason with a 7-6 victory against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (1-6-0-0 preseason) Saturday at the USHL Fall Classic in suburban Pittsburgh. September 16, 2016 - CRANBERRY TWP., PENNSYLVANIA - After giving up the game's opening goal just 2:01 into Friday's game, the Chicago Steel (3-1-0-1) responded with a stingy defense the rest of the way, earning a 3-1 preseason victory over the Muskegon Lumberjacks (3-2-0-0) at the USHL Fall Classic at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. CAPITOLS FIGHT PAST STEEL IN OVERTIME THURSDAY

September 15, 2016 - CRANBERRY TWP., PENNSYLVANIA - Eugene Fadyeyev closed it for the Madison Capitols (2-0-1-0) in overtime against the Chicago Steel (2-1-1-0) in a back-and-forth contest Thursday at the USHL Fall Classic East in suburban Pittsburgh. Former Steel captain Marcel Godbout scored twice in the Capitols' victory, including tying the game with just 12.2 seconds remaining in regulation.
