Steel Battle Past Musketeers Sunday

January 15, 2017 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - In a hard-fought battle between the USHL's top two teams, Chicago's line of Reggie Lutz, Jake Jaremko and Walker Duehr combined for two second-period goals to lead the Steel (23-6-1-3, 50 pts.) past the Sioux City Musketeers (20-8-4-1, 45 pts.) 2-1 Sunday at Fox Valley Ice Arena. Steel Acquire Aleski Halme from Cedar Rapids

January 14, 2017 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel announced Saturday the acquisition of forward Aleksi Halme from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The Finnish winger is expected to make his Steel debut Saturday night when the team hosts Team USA (U17) at Fox Valley Ice Arena. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Halme, 17, is in his rookie USHL season and first season in North America. Steel Regain Top Spot in USHL Power Rankings

January 9, 2017 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The USHL January Power Rankings were released this week and the Chicago Steel (21-6-1-3, 46 pts.) have regained the top spot in the standings. In total, 21 media members ranked the teams from 1st to 17th and the votes were compiled into an overall monthly ranking. Chicago received 19 first-place votes, while Sioux City of the Western Conference received two.
