Islanders Sign Wotherspoon to Entry-Level Contract

May 2, 2016 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Parker Wotherspoon has agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract. Wotherspoon, 18, has played the past three seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, scoring 11 goals and 45 assists in 71 games this season. In 210 career WHL games, Wotherspoon has 22 goals and 94 assists. He made his professional debut with the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the end of 2015-16, recording one assist in six games. ... Full Story

April 28, 2016 - TORONTO, Ont. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers season ended Thursday night after the Toronto Marlies scored five unanswered goals, winning 6-4 in Game 3 at Ricoh Coliseum. The Sound Tigers came out of the gate flying, firing shot after shot towards Antoine Bibeau. The team was rewarded with a power play goal when Marc-Andre Cliche scored his first of the postseason. April 24, 2016 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers fought until the very end, but fell to the Toronto Marlies 3-0 in Game Two of the North Division Semis Sunday night at Webster Bank Arena. With the win the Marlies take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five-series. The third star of the game, Stephon Williams, stopped 34 of 37 shots in the loss, while Garret Sparks earned the shutout stopping all 31 shots he faced. Bridgeport drops first-ever meeting with Toronto

April 23, 2016 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Toronto Marlies took control early in the second period and never let up en route to a 4-1 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday night at Webster Bank Arena. A four goal second for the Marlies took the bite out of the Sound Tigers, who held a 1-0 lead after a strong first period in their Calder Cup Playoff opener.
