Akron Racers Foundation Annouces 2017 Amateur Event Schedule

October 12, 2016 - Akron, OH -- The Akron Racers Foundation comprehensive development and utilization of historic Firestone Stadium has gone far beyond its signature team, the Akron Racers. In fact, Racers will be an exclamation point to a jam-pack schedule of activities for 2017. The Foundation schedule includes five high school tournaments and five summer travel ball tournaments. September 18, 2016 - AKRON, OH- The Akron Racers Charities, in co-operation with Cuyahoga Community College, welcome eight universities and colleges from three different states to Firestone Stadium, September 23-25. Gold Glove Winner Andrews to be Honored by Indians

September 15, 2016 - AKRON, OH - The recognition and celebration continues on for Akron Racers right fielder A.J. Andrews. Last month Andrews made history at the annual NPF Awards Banquet, becoming the first woman to win a Rawlings Gold Glove Award in the award's 59-year history. Every year since 1957 the Gold Glove has been awarded to the best defensive player at each position in Major League Baseball's American and National League. Jailyn Ford to Have Number Retired by Bath County HS

August 23, 2016 - After being an NFCA First Team All-American at James Madison University, becoming the third overall and transitioning to a top rookie pitcher in the NPF this season, Akron Racer pitcher Jailyn Ford will be receiving another honor this fall, this time from her Alma Mater Bath County High School in Hot Springs, Virginia. Prior to Bath County's Homecoming football game against Pendleton (WV) High School, Ford will have her #12 jersey number retired by the school.
