Warthogs' Pollok wins Rolaids Relief award

Winston-Salem, NC – Dwayne Pollok of the Winston-Salem Warthogs is the Carolina League winner of the Rolaids Relief Man competition for June, compiling 20 points on 6 saves and a 1-0 record. Pollok is a Chicago White Sox farmhand. Pollok leads the Carolina League with 16 saves. Pollok was a 27th round pick by the White Sox out of Texas A&M in 2003.
The point leader among relief pitchers each month (through August) in all of Minor League BaseballÂ’s domestic leagues will be presented certificates. In the Rolaids Relief Man program, a pitcher gets three points for each save, two points for each relief win, while losing two points for each relief loss. There are also awards based on the full season.
The Warthogs play gave two of their three game series at Salem Friday night. First pitch is at 6:05pm. All the live play by play coverage will be heard on the internet at www.warthogs.com and on 600/1200 WSJS at 6:15pm.
