Z's Face Puig, Dodgers Starting Saturday

Metairie, LA - Former National League All-Star Yasiel Puig and the Oklahoma City Dodgers come to town for a four-game series against the New Orleans Zephyrs beginning Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Zephyrs have won eight of nine games, including their first-ever series sweep in Las Vegas. Xavier Scruggs has led the way offensively, hitting five home runs in his last seven games and leading the Pacific Coast League since July 1 in home runs (14) and runs scored (36), while Matt Juengel has chipped in a .337 batting average over his last 22 games. Puig has boosted the Dodgers' surge toward a division title since being optioned to Oklahoma City two weeks ago, batting .441 with three home runs and 11 RBI in nine games.

The pitching probables for the series: Saturday 6 PM: RHP Jake Esch (1-0, 6.17) vs. RHP Logan Bawcom (5-3, 1.85) Sunday 4 PM: RHP Kendry Flores (3-4, 3.84) vs. RHP Jeremy Kehrt (4-5, 4.89) Monday 6 PM: LHP Justin Nicolino (7-5, 3.70) vs. RHP Jose De Leon (5-1, 3.14) Tuesday 6 PM: RHP Asher Wojciechowski (3-5, 5.59) vs. RHP Trevor Oaks 5-1, 3.03)

The Zephyrs will present the high school football teams from the Catholic League as part of an on-field ceremony prior to Saturday's opener, sponsored by WTIX FM. All residents of St. Tammany Parish will receive a free hat with presentation of a valid ID, and all fans are eligible to upgrade their ticket for $16 to receive all-you-can-eat Hooters wings and fries in the Metairie Bank Home Run Porch. The night will conclude with postgame fireworks show.

Subway Sunday allows all fans to run the bases on the field following Sunday's 4 p.m. contest, and receive a free hat by presenting a Subway receipt upon entering the ballpark. Zephyrs season ticket holders are invited onto the field prior to Monday's 6 p.m. tilt for pregame recognition, and the series concludes on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
