Zephyrs Win Streak Ends in Nashville

NASHVILLE - Nashville catcher Bruce Maxwell drove home four runs to lead the Nashville Sounds to an 8-2 win over the Zephyrs on Sunday afternoon. The loss snapped the Zephyrs four game win streak.

The Zephyrs (43-45) head into the All-Star Break winners of six of their last eight and trail first place Nashville by 4 1/2 games. The Zephyrs will be home for 35 of their final 55 games. New Orleans will host Nashville eight times during that stretch.

In the game the Nashville Sounds jumped on starter Asher Wojciechoski with a pair of runs in the second inning and five in the third inning. Colin Walsh reached base in all five at bats scoring four runs. Arismendy Alcantara had three hits and two RBI for the Sounds.

Dillon Overton pitched seven solid innings for the Sounds for his tenth win of the season. He allowed two runs on eight hits.

A lone highlight in the game for the Zephyrs was a solo home run to right field by Isaac Galloway. His home run was a fly ball to right that ricochet off the glove of the outfielder Max Muncy.

GAME NOTES The Zephyrs fall to 12-4 all time at First Tennessee Park; the Zephyrs won six of eight games in the Nashville ballpark this season.

The Zephyrs will send outfielder Destin Hood to the Triple-A All-Star Game in Charlotte on Wednesday.

ON DECK The Zephyrs are off for a three day All-Star Break.

NEXT HOME GAME The Zephyrs open an eight game home-stand Thursday, July 14th against the Class AAA Houston Astros the Fresno Grizzlies.
