Zephyrs Make It Six in a Row, Shutout Round Rock

Round Rock, TX - Chris Narveson and Greg Nappo combine for a three hit shutout win for the New Orleans Zephyrs on Monday night. The Zephyrs pitched their league leading seventh shutout. The Zephyrs beat Round Rock 6-0 for their sixth consecutive win.

The Zephyrs scored all six runs with two outs and started the scoring in the third inning with a two run home run from Robert Andino. Destin Hood added with his team leading 43rd run batted in with a single to score Austin Nola.

Former Express catcher Tomas Telis added a pair of hits and drove home three RBI to cap the night for the Zephyrs.

Narveson pitched seven innings allowed two hits and fanned wight for his second victory of the season. Kyle Lohse suffered the loss for Round Rock, he allowed five runs, two earned in six innings.

The Zephyrs improve to 31-31 and Round Rock falls to 34-28.

GAME NOTES

The Zephyrs have won 10 of 11 and are riding a season high six game win streak.

The Zephyrs improved to 10-2 in June and have a league leading 1.49 ERA for the month. The Zephyrs finished the month of May with a 10-18 record and a 4.29 ERA for the month. 

ON DECK

The Zephyrs continue the four game road-trip Tuesday in Round Rock. The Z's will start LHP Chris Reed (4-4, 2.65) against RHP Nick Martinez (6-4, 4.50) The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App. 

The Zephyrs return home on Friday to host Oklahoma City in a four game set.
