General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett announced Wednesday that Zack Terry has committed to an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player Agreement with the Storm.

Terry, a 6'1", 185 lb defenceman from Oakville, was the Storm's second round pick (36th overall) in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.

"We are extremely pleased to have Zack join our group," said Burnett. "He is a very mobile defender, moves the puck well and played a key role in a very successful minor hockey program."

"We expect Zack to be a big part of our success moving forward."

Terry enjoyed an outstanding minor midget season with the Oakville Rangers in 2017-18, as his team went undefeated (32-0-4) in the regular season in the OMHA-SCTA loop. He led the SCTA in scoring among defenseman and finished 9th among all players with 43 points in 35 games (15 goals, 28 assists). At the season-ending OHL Cup tournament, he posted five points (two goals, three assists) in five games as the Rangers reached the quarter-finals.

"It is really exciting to get a chance to join the Storm organization," said Terry.

"Everybody in the organization has been extremely welcoming to me, from management to the current players. They have made me feel like part of the Storm family already."

Following the OHL Priority Selection, Terry and his family attended the Storm's Spring Orientation Camp, which included fitness testing, on-ice scrimmages with fellow Storm prospects and an introduction into the team's student-athlete environment.

Earlier this month, he represented the OMHA at the 2018 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener. He tallied three points (one goal, two assists) in four games at the tournament, including a goal in the third-place game as his "OMHA Black' team claimed bronze medals.

After finishing his school year this June, Terry will spend the rest of the off-season preparing for Storm Training Camp, which begins in late August, with details to be announced.
