York Revolution News Release

(August 3, 2017 - New Britain, Ct.): Jared Mitchell hammered two of the York Revolution's four home runs as the Revs won their third straight, 12-4 over the New Britain Bees on Thursday night at New Britain Stadium. The Revs improve to 16-11 in the second half, remaining within two games of first place.

Mitchell set the stage for a first inning run, cranking a double to the gap in right-center with one out. Michael Burgess followed with an RBI single to center and the Revs had a 1-0 lead three batters into the game.

York starter Logan Williamson preserved the 1-0 lead through the first three innings, inducing double play grounders in the first and third innings.

The Revs erupted for six runs in the top of the fourth. Luis Cruz led off with a single to center and Carlos Triunfel slammed a two-run homer to left-center field for a 3-0 lead. Ryan Dent singled up the middle and Chase Simpson laced a double down the right field line to put two in scoring position. Travis Witherspoon lined an RBI single to right to plate Dent, and Simpson came home as right fielder Jordan Hinshaw's throw sailed to the backstop on an error. Mitchell capped the outburst with a line drive two-run homer to right-center to give York a 7-0 lead, and come within a triple of the cycle by the fourth inning.

Mitchell's homer chased Bees starter Jonathan Pettibone who was charged with seven runs on 10 hits in three-plus innings. Reliever Brandon Shimo settled things down, allowing just an infield hit over three innings to briefly stall the Revs offense.

New Britain answered York's six-spot with a four-run bottom of the fourth. Jovan Rosa led things off with a double before a pair of walks loaded the bases. An infield hit by Hinshaw produced the first run, and Jon Griffin followed with a two-run single to left. Williamson settled back down, however, recording a fly out, a fielder's choice, and a pickoff of Michael Baca to end the inning.

Williamson (5-7) also handled a scoreless fifth to pick up the win, his 20th all-time in a York uniform. The milestone victory ties him for third-most in Revs history, two days after teammate Frank Gailey earned his 20th as the duo matches Wayne Franklin (2007-09) on the franchise's all-time list.

Michael Click, Jared Gaynor, Ricardo Gomez, and Jacob Ezell all fired scoreless innings in relief.

The offense put it out of reach late as Telvin Nash crushed a three-run homer that soared above the left edge of the center field batters' eye in the eighth, and Mitchell launched a towering two-run home run to right field in the ninth.

Mitchell led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, four runs, two steals, and a walk.

Nash reached base five times, adding three walks and a hit-by-pitch to his home run. Simpson was on base four times, going 3-for-4.
