Yard Goats Win Third Straight Game 5-3 on Saturday

Manchester, NH- The Hartford Yard Goats (26-15) defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (19-21) by the score of 5-3 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Saturday night in Manchester. The win was Hartford's third in a row and improved the Yard Goats to 11-game above .500 at 26-15. The Yard Goats scored three times in the third inning, including back-to-back home runs from David Dahl and Ryan McMahon. McMahon had a single, double and home run and drove in a pair of runs. Tyler Anderson pitched well in five innings to earn his first win of the season. Berlin's Matt Carasiti recorded a 4-out save, his Eastern League leading 13th of the season in the win. The Yard Goats go for a 3-game sweep tomorrow afternoon.

Harford scored the first run in the first inning on Ryan McMahon's 2-out RBI double, scoring Raimel Tapia from second base off starter Luis Santos.

New Hampshire answered with two runs in the second inning off starter Tyler Anderson. Dwight Smith Jr. singled home Matt Dean and Christian Lopes' sacrifice fly scored Smith giving the Fisher Cats a 2-1 lead after two innings.

However, the Yard Goats scored three runs in the third inning to pull in front for good. Tapia lead off the inning with a single and scored on Dahl's homer to right-centerfield. McMahon followed with a solo homerun, the first time Hartford hit back-to-back homers this season, making it 4-2 Yard Goats. The Rockies affiliate added a run in the 7th inning on Rosell Herrera's 2-out RBI single.

Closer Matt Carasiti came in with two outs in the 8th inning with runners at first and third and retired Matt Dean on two pitches to end the Fisher Cats threat. He allowed a solo homer to Jorge Saez in the 9th but retired the final two batters for the save.

The Yard Goats wrap up the 3-game series against the Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon in Manchester, New Hampshire at 1:35 PM. LHP Kyle Freeland will pitch for Harford while RHP Jeremy Gabryszwski will start for the Fisher Cats. The game will be broadcast live on News Radio 1410 WPOP.
