Yard Goats Six Game Win Streak Ends in 6-5 Loss

Reading, PA- The Hartford Yard Goats (54-43) were defeated by the Reading Fightin Phils (67-32) by the score of 6-5 on Friday evening in the second of a four game series at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. The Yard Goats hit three home runs and had a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning but the Fightin Phils tied the game in the eighth and Philadelphia Phillies Outfielder Aaron Altherr, down on MLB rehab, scored the game winning run on Jorge Alfaro's double in the bottom of the ninth inning. The loss snapped Hartford's six-game win streak.

The Yard Goats have won four of five games of a difficult seven-game stretch against the two first place teams, Altoona and Reading.
