Hartford, Conn- The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced that it has launched a leadership program for Hartford teenagers. The Hartford Yard Goats Young Ambassadors Program is an exciting new after school initiative designed to empower high school age teenagers and help them prepare for a successful future. The program, a partnership between the Yard Goats and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, begins on November 14 and runs through March 31.

The program will take place in the Aetna Community Center at Dunkin' Donuts Park. A stipend will be awarded to ambassadors who complete the program in full. The Hartford Yard Goats Young Ambassadors Program will serve to educate teenagers on college opportunities, career readiness, leadership values, community service, money management and public speaking. The program will also provide off site experiences such as college tours and job shadowing. The HYGYAP will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-7PM. The deadline for all applicants is November 6.

"We are thrilled to launch our Youth Ambassadors Program" Yard Goats Director of Community Partnership Tiffany Young said. The Yard Goats are currently hosting a Theatre Arts Program, and are working on several other initiatives with community organizations to take place in the Community Center.
