WWE Legend, Santa Fan Foley to Headline Christmas in July

The Red Wings have announced plans for their annual Christmas in July promotion on July 19, with a very special grand marshal of the pre-game parade in Santa's sleigh: WWE Hall of Famer and year-round Christmas enthusiast Mick Foley.
Foley's appearance here is being presented by Bathtub Billy's Restaurant and Sports Bar on West Ridge Rd.. As part of Foley's appearance, some lucky fans will have the chance to have lunch with Foley at Bathtub Billy's on July 19; more details on lunch with Foley will be announced soon on Bathtub Billy's Facebook page.
Foley will sign autographs for fans in the concourse near the Red Wings Hall of Fame from 6 pm until 6:45 pm. He will be featured in a pre-game on-field interview segment presented by Bathtub Billy's, throw out the first pitch, then sign for fans again from 7:05 until 8 pm.
Mick Foley has produced some of the most memorable, spectacular moments in every pro wrestling promotion he has appeared in. His in-ring appearance with "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was one of the highlights of a memorable Wrestlemania 32 on April 3. He is currently involved in the new WWE Network reality series, "Holy Foley." The series will offer viewers a comedic, behind-the-scenes look into the life of WWE Hall of Famer, husband and father Mick Foley and his unique relationship with his daughter Noelle. The 10-episode, 30-minute family reality series is slated to premiere this August.
Foley attended SUNY Cortland in the 1980's, has family in the Western New York area, and is a noted consumer of Zweigle's hot dogs. His son Dewey, currently a writer's assistant for the WWE, was a Red Wings media relations/online content assistant in 2014.
Foley is also a multiple-time New York Times best-selling author, and a noted philanthropist - supporting RAINN, Child-Fund International, and other causes. Foley has appeared on TV's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Robot Wars, Boy Meets World, Family Feud, ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap, and Fox News' Red Eye with Greg Gutfield.
The July 19 event at our Frontier Field Winter Wonderland will include snow and a Christmas tree at the front gate, Santa and his sleigh, a very special Elf, and a free Red Wings Christmas ornament for the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Basch & Nickerson LLP.
