Charleston Dirty Birds News Release

(Charleston, WV - May 8, 2017)- The West Virginia Power stranded 16 runners in a 6-3 loss to the Lexington Legends Monday night. The Power loaded the bases six separate times.

Lexington grabbed the first lead of the evening. Khalil Lee came around on a botched throw to the plate from Hunter Owen. West Virginia took the lead back in the third inning.

While sending nine men to the plate, the Power touched home thrice. Arden Pabst ripped his third double of the season to drive home a pair. Alexis Bastardo plated another, and ultimately the final run. A single back up the middle brought home Carlos Munoz. Bastardo ended his day 4 for 5 with all singles. It was his first four-hit game since 2015 and third four-hit game of his career.

The Legends responded in the fourth. Matt Anderson allowed Meibrys Viloria and Angelo Castellano to come around and tie the game. A Chris DeVito solo shot in the fifth would be the difference maker. The South Atlantic League's home runs and RBI leader knocked his 11th of the year and finished a triple shy of the cycle.

Lexington came around once in the sixth and the seventh to cap their 13th win of the season. West Virginia fell to 15-17 on the year, splitting the four-game set with Lexington. Anderson (3-2) took the loss while Garrett Davila (3-0) earned the win. Jace Vines took his third save after four innings of shutout work.

West Virginia gets Tuesday off but begins a road series against the Asheville Tourists on Wednesday. All the action can be on the Power Baseball Radio network.

First Half Record:

15-16
