LEADING OFF: The Power beat the Lexington Legends 12-4 on Wednesday afternoon. West Virginia opened the scoring in the first on an RBI single by Carlos Munoz and a bases loaded hit batter for a 2-0 lead. The Power added two runs in the second and held a 5-1 edge after three. Mitch Keller struck out seven over five innings and left with West Virginia ahead 5-2. After the Legends plated one in the sixth, the Power scored seven times in the eighth on three hits, five walks, two wild pitches, a passed ball and a sac fly. Lexington closed the scoring with a run in the bottom of the ninth. Keller earned his fifth win, three of which have come against the Legends, while Julio Pinto took the loss. Eight different Power players scored at least on run and seven had at least one hit.

PLUS ONE: West Virginia swept Lexington and closed its final road trip of the first half with four straight victories. The Power went 5-2 on their first trip of the season and 3-1 on their second stint away from Appalachian Power Park. Since late April, the club has gone 1-2, 1-6, 1-2 and 1-2 on their last four trips away from home prior to this journey.

ALL-STAR NEWS: Daniel Arribas was added to the Northern Division roster as a replacement for Greensboro's Josh Naylor, who was recently promoted. Arribas will start at first base. In addition, Ke'Bryan Hayes was tabbed for a starting role after being selected as a utility infielder, replacing the injured Kelvin Gutierrez from Hagerstown. The Power now have four All-Stars starting for the Northern Division, including pitcher Mitch Keller and left fielder Tito Polo. The South Atlantic League All-Star Game will be played in Lexington on Tuesday night and can be heard on the Power Baseball Network.

BFF'S: The Power are 10-1 this season against the Legends, accounting for 29 percent of West Virginia's win total this season. West Virginia and Lexington meet for nine games in the second half of the season.

ENERGIZING: Mitchell Tolman's on-base streak has reached 23 straight. The infielder's streak is the longest active on-base streak in the league, three better than teammate John Bormann's current 19-game run. Tolman was last kept off the bases on May 18 at Delmarva. His streak has matched Charleston's Hoy Jun Park for the second longest in the league this season and is 10 games behind the RiverDogs Chris Gittens 33-game streak from April through early June.

CAREER DAY: Gage Hinsz struck out a career-best nine batter Tuesday nine in his first ever quality start. Prior to Tuesday, the 20-year-old had never struck out more than six batters in a game and had not completed six innings over 16 career games, including 14 starts, since being drafted by the Pirates in 2014.

GREAT SPOT: Tanner Anderson notched a quality start on Monday in his first-ever non-relief appearance. Anderson had made 30 appearances spanning two seasons out of the bullpen prior to Monday's spot start. He did not factor in the decision, but was effective, allowing one unearned run over six innings on three hits while striking out five.

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY: West Virginia is 20-17 against Southern Division opponents this season. The Power finish the first half with 11 in a row against Southern Division opponents and open the second half with 11 straight against teams from the South. The next time West Virginia plays a divisional rival is on July 4 at Greensboro.

POWER POINTS: Tito Polo is one home run shy of matching the Power's 2015 season leaders. Jordan Luplow and Pablo Reyes led the 2015 club with 12 home runs over 106 and 108 games apiece, respectively.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 11-2 at Citi Field against the Mets... Indianapolis beat Pawtucket 10-6 as Josh bell homered for the second straight day and raised his average to .316... Altoona lost 9-3 to New Hampshire. Austin Meadows was 1-4 and his hitting streak is now at 23 straight... Bradenton held off Clearwater. 9-7

PROMO UPDATE: The Power host the Charleston RiverDogs on this evening. FestivALL, the 12 day celebration of arts in the city, will hold their opening ceremonies at Appalachian Power Park. The evening is also Garnet Career Center Night and will be followed by a post game concert from Tyler Childers and Ona.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App.
