LEADING OFF: The Power beat the Legends 7-3 Tuesday night. West Virginia opened the scoring in the second on a Carlos Munoz double and a run-scoring single from Tyler Filliben. The Power added a run in the third on a sac fly and plated three runs in the fourth on two walks, two hit batters, a single and an error. Lexington broke up the shutout with two runs in the fifth and a solo home run in the sixth. The Power added runs in the seventh and eighth to close the scoring. Gage Hinsz struck out nine for his first South Atlantic League win. Gerson Garabito allowed the first five runs and took the loss. Filliben had the lone multi-hit game for West Virginia and Christian Kelley had two RBI as the Power clinched the series and moved to 9-1 against Lexington this season.

FOR THE WIN: West Virginia seeks a victory today to head home with a winning road trip. The Power went 5-2 on their first trip of the season and 3-1 on their second stint away from Appalachian Power Park. Since late April, the club has gone 1-2, 1-6, 1-2 and 1-2 on their last four trips away from home.

LEGENDS IN THE MAKING: The Power are 9-1 this season against the Legends, having won seven straight before an April 24 loss at Lexington. West Virginia leads the all-time series 123-100 and have gone 67-48 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. After this series, the Power and Legends meet for nine games in the second half of the season.

ENERGIZING: Mitchell Tolman's on-base streak has reached 22 straight. The infielder's streak is the longest active on-base streak in the league, three better than teammate John Bormann's current 19-game run. Tolman was last kept off the bases on May 18 at Delmarva.

CAREER DAY: Gage Hinsz struck out a career-best nine batter Tuesday nine in his first ever quality start. Prior to Tuesday, the 20-year-old had never struck out more than six batters in a game and had not completed six innings over 16 career games, including 14 starts, since being drafted by the Pirates in 2014.

GREAT SPOT: Tanner Anderson notched a quality start in his first-ever non-relief appearance. Anderson had made 30 appearances spanning two seasons out of the bullpen prior to Monday's spot start. He did not factor in the decision, but was effective, allowing one unearned run over six innings on three hits while striking out five.

MITCH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY: All-Star starter Mitch Keller will make his 12th start of the season today and third against the Legends. The right-hander is 2-0 against Lexington this season and has not allowed a run over ten innings against the Legends. Keller struck out 10 the last time he faced Lexington; April 22 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY: West Virginia is 19-17 against Southern Division opponents this season. The Power finish the first half with 11 in a row against Southern Division opponents and open the second half with 11 straight against teams from the South. The next time West Virginia plays a divisional rival is on July 4 at Greensboro.

POWER POINTS: Mitch Keller and Tito Polo were selected as starters for the June 21 All-Star Game in Lexington. Ke'Bryan Hayes was chosen as a reserve and trainer Dom Cappozzo will also represent the Power at Whitaker Bank Park... Tito Polo is one home run shy of matching the Power's 2015 season leaders. Jordan Luplow and Pablo Reyes led the 2015 club with 12 home runs over 106 and 108 games apiece, respectively.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh recalled Jameson Tallion and the right-hander helped shutout the New York Mets 4-0 for his first MLB win... Josh Bell homered and Indianapolis beat Pawtucket 6-2... Altoona crushed New Hampshire 11-3. Eric Wood and Stetson Allie went yard to pace the Curve... Bradenton lost 2-1 at Clearwater.

PROMO UPDATE: The Power host the Charleston RiverDogs on June 16. FestivALL, the 12 day celebration of arts in the city, will hold their opening ceremonies at Appalachian Power Park. The evening is also Garnet Career Center Night and will be followed by a post game concert from Tyler Childers and Ona.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App. Adam Marco will call the action once again and will be joined by Greg Wong when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
