LEADING OFF: West Virginia lost 10-1 to Delmarva in Wednesday's series finale. The Power held a 1-0 lead two batter into the game after a Cole Tucker triple and a groundout. The Shorebirds scored two runs in the second, one in the third and three in the fifth inning for a 6-1 lead. Delmarva added four more in the eighth inning on four extra base hits, a walk and a sac fly. Bret Helton allowed three runs over four innings and took the loss. Francisco Jimenez worked six inning and a quality start for the win and Jay Flaa pitched the final three innings for his first save of the year.

Tucker and Alfredo Reyes had the only multi-hit games for West Virginia.

BRING TO A BOIL: West Virginia hosts Hickory through Sunday. The Power and Crawdads have met 110 times since 2005 with each team winning 55 games. West Virginia won the 2015 regular season series 5-3, but Hickory won two of three in the Northern Division Championship Series before claiming the South Atlantic League title. The Power hold a 31-22 record at home against the Crawdads during regular season play.

HOME SWEET HOME: Beginning with tonight's series opening game against Hickory, West Virginia plays 11 of the next 14 games at Appalachian Power Park after having played 10 of the last 14 games on the road.

JOHN B. GOOD: No Power player has a current hitting streak longer than catcher John Bormann's SIX game run. Bormann's 11 game on-base streak is also the longest current streak on the roster...

EVENED UP: The loss Wednesday dropped the Power to 19-19 marking the first time since April 8 the Power have a .500 record. West Virginia started the year 14-3. From April 24 on the team is 5-16.

ROCKY ROAD: West Virginia went 1-6 on their seven game trip to Lakewood and Delmarva. The Power hit .207 during the trip and were outscored 33-17. 29 of the 33 runs surrendered on the trip were earned and the club committed ten errors over the seven games.

HANGING ON: Seth McGarry's two-inning save on Monday was the club's first save since game two of a doubleheader on April 22. West Virginia's bullpen has amassed a league-low six saves this season. Six different relievers in the league have more or as many saves as the Power staff has this year.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE DAY MAKES: West Virginia is 3-9 in day games this year.

FOUR SCORE: The four run seventh inning Monday evening was the Power's most productive inning this month. The six run game total nearly matched the offensive output during the Lakewood series (seven runs total) and is the most the club has scored in a game since a 7-3 win over Asheville on April 29.

POWER POINTS: Alan Hanson was recalled by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday and made his Major League debut in a pinch hit at bat against the Atlanta Braves. He is the 50th former Power player to reach the Major Leagues. The Minnesota Twins promoted Robbie Grossman to the active roster. Grossman hit .266 over 116 games for West Virginia in 2009. Tito Polo had four hits in eight at bats over the course of the Delmarva series to raise his average from .257 to .273.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-1 to Atlanta. Jung Ho Kang hit his fifth home run of the season... Indianapolis fell to 19-19 this season with a 5-3 loss to Columbus. Frank Duncan suffered the loss for the Indians... Altoona bested Binghamton 6-1. Edgar Santana earned the victory in relief of Cody Dickson with three scoreless innings... Bradenton split a doubleheader with Brevard County, losing 3-2 and winning 8-0.
