THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia lost 10-7 to Charleston in 11 innings last night. The teams exchanged the lead over the first four innings before the Power pushed ahead 6-4 with a two-run fifth. The RiverDogs rallied to tie the game in the seventh and held a 7-6 lead edge when Stetson Allie singled in Dilson Herrera to even the score in the bottom of the eighth. Charleston tallied three in the top of the 11th to steal the win. Allie and Josh Bell paced the offense by driving in two runs apiece. Lance Breedlove was charged with the loss as West Virginia fell for the second straight night. Four Power pitchers combined to strike out a season-high 14 batters.

FOUR BY TWO: Stetson Allie and Eric Wood each had four hits in the Power loss on Tuesday evening. The last Power player to have a four hit game was Gregory Polanco on July 20 in game two of a doubleheader against Delmarva. Over the first six games, West Virginia's position players have combined to collect 13 multi-hit games, including three by Allie and two by Wood.

HOLMES TO SOLVE RIVERDOGS: Clay Holmes takes to the hill today in search of his first win. The tenth best prospect in the Pirates organization according to Baseball America, Holmes took a no-decision in his South Atlantic League debut on Friday against Asheville. The right-hander struck out six, walked four, and faced a total of 20 batters in three and two-thirds.

STREAKING: Raul Fortunato has reached safely by way of base hit in each of the last five games and is the only Power player to reach safely in all six games this season. Across the league, eight different players have reached by at least one base hit in each of their first six games this season.

CHASING 300: West Virginia remains just seven wins away from reaching 300 home victories. The franchise holds a current mark of 293-264 at Appalachian Power Park including both regular season and playoff contests.

WALK OFF WINNER: On Sunday, Stetson Allie became the first Power player in almost two years to hit a walk-off home run. Cole White was the last West Virginia Power player to win a game with a home run when he drove a ball over the left field wall on June 26, 2011 on the very first pitch from Lexington's Jorge De Leon in the bottom of the tenth inning (a 2-1 Power victory).

BULLPEN BRIGADE: Pittsburgh added Lance Breedlove to the West Virginia roster on Monday and transferred John Kuchno to the Jamestown roster. Breedlove was a 23rd round selection by the Pirates in the 2012 draft from Purdue University and made 18 relief appearances for State College, going 1-0 with a 2.90 ERA.

SOUTH TO WEST: The Power will battle Charleston RiverDogs nine times in 2013, down from 14 in 2012. The Yankees affiliate took 10 of those games last year and now leads the all-time series 28-23. This set marks the only meetings this season in West Virginia. The clubs will meet for three games in South Carolina later this month and for three games in August.

PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 19: The Power will welcome two Los Angeles Laker cheerleaders and have a Jerry West East Bank High jersey giveaway on NBA night. This event is presented by WCHS-TV and Fox 11.

POWER POINTS: Josh Bell's three RBI game Monday was the second of his career spanning 19 games... West Virginia is 1-1 in extra inning games this season. The Power went 2-7 on 2012 when playing bonus baseball... Ryan Hafner faced 13 batters on Tuesday night over three full innings, striking out seven of them.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh edged Arizona 6-5 and have clinched the series. James McDonald earned his first win of the season with five innings of four hit, four run ball... Indianapolis beat Toledo 3-2 in 10 innings... Altoona crushed Akron 14-6. Andrew Lambo hit for the cycle to pace the Curve. Bradenton fell at Charlotte 6-2.
