Wranglers Outpaced by Grizzlies, 4-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies 4-1 in Game Two of the National Conference Quarterfinals, bringing the best-of-five series to 1-1. Las Vegas forward Kyle Hagel scored the lone Wranglers goal. Wranglers goaltender Jimmy Spratt stopped 26 of 30 shots, while Utah netminder Mikko Koskinen earned the win with 33 saves made on 34 Las Vegas shots.

The Wranglers scored first as Kyle Hagel tipped-in a goal from Chris Neiszner 2:29 into the first period. Under four minutes later, Utah evened the scored with a goal from Peter Vandermeer on a pass in front of the net from Malcom MacMillan. The Grizzlies added one more before the end of the period on a James Sixsmith breakaway shorthanded goal, to end the first with Utah up 3-1.

After a scoreless second period, Utah's AJ Perry scored a power play goal 3:58 into the third off a bounce behind the net from Dylan Hunter and Brock Wilson. Utah capped their scoring with an empty netter from Tim Crowder with just under two minutes left in the game.

The Wranglers head to Utah Saturday for Game Three of the best-of-five series. Utah's win tonight brings the series to 1-1, forcing Game Four Sunday in Utah.
