Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Ontario, Calif. - Battling back from a first period dominated by the Ontario Reign, the Las Vegas Wranglers won 4-3 in overtime tonight to keep the team's winning streak rolling with their seventh in a row.

Ontario put Las Vegas in an early hole on a power play goal from center C.J. Stretch just 2:15 into the first. Reign right wing Derek Couture scored five minutes later, putting the Wranglers down 2-0 despite holding the narrow 9-7 shot edge.

Six minutes into the second, Wranglers left wing Adam Hughesman cut the Reign lead in half, making it a 2-1 game. That score carried over into the third when, almost exactly 20 minutes later, Wranglers forward Scott Pitt tallied a power play goal to knot the game 2-2. Ontario quickly regained the lead off the stick of right wing Brady Calla, but a second Las Vegas power play goal, coming from left wing Josh Lunden, tied the game 3-3 at the end of regulation.

Only 39 seconds into overtime, Wranglers defenseman Channing Boe posted his fourth goal of the season to secure the 4-3 victory for Las Vegas. That win makes seven in a row, a season high, for the Wranglers.

The Wranglers play the Utah Grizzlies on Wednesday, Feb. 13, before returning home for two games against the Idaho Steelheads starting Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday, Feb. 17, the team hosts the second annual Wranglers Midnight Circus featuring live aerial and contortionist acts on the concourse and ice at 11:59 p.m.
