Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 5-2 tonight, splitting the two-game road series after falling 2-1 in a shootout Thursday morning.

Both teams had 11 shots in the first, but the goals were left to the second and third periods as the first 20 minutes ticked by without a score.

Wranglers right wing Sean Wiles put the first puck in the net six minutes into the second, and a Condors goal from forward Tyler Brenner tied the game up 1-1 three minutes later, but Las Vegas turned around and regained the one-goal lead on center Eric Lampe's fifth of the season. With Condors defenseman Tyson Gimblett tossed from the game at the end of the second for three fighting majors, Wranglers left wing Josh Lunden secured an insurance goal on the 5-on-3 power play to give the team a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes.

Bakersfield attempted a comeback on a goal from forward Parker Stanfield early in the third, but a second goal from Lampe and an empty net goal from Wranglers forward Chris Collins secured the 5-2 victory for Las Vegas. That win put an end to a six-game winless streak for the Wranglers.

After the Thanksgiving holiday, the Wranglers take on the Idaho Steelheads for the first time this season with two road games on Nov. 23 and 24. The team returns home to face the San Francisco Bulls on Thursday, Nov. 29, and then wraps up November with specialty Movember jerseys and a performance by Lenny Hendrix on Friday, Nov. 30, against the Orlando Solar Bears.
