Wranglers announce schedual

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today the team's 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Las Vegas will play 36 home games and 36 road games in its' sixth season.

The Wranglers embark on their second consecutive National Conference and Pacific Division title defense starting on Friday, October 17th in Alaska at 8:15 pm (PST). Las Vegas will celebrate the team's sixth Opening Night on Thursday, October 23rd at the Orleans Arena against their new California rival, the Ontario Reign. The annual Midnight Holiday Roundup returns on Monday, December 15th at 11:59 pm against Ontario. Las Vegas will reveal the start times at a later date and the 2008-09 promotions schedule this off-season.

The 2008-09 season is loaded with National Conference rivals, including 10 games against long-time rival Alaska, the Wranglers second round playoff opponent in 2007-08. Las Vegas starts the season with two road games in Anchorage and returns to Alaska for three games in early March. The Aces visit Las Vegas more than any other team in 2008-09 with five games at the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers host Alaska for two games in late December, followed by three games in late March.

The Wranglers welcome the Ontario Reign to the National Conference this upcoming season. The Reign will play games at the brand new Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. Ontario will host Las Vegas in the first ever game at the new arena on Saturday, October 25th. Las Vegas will see Bakersfield and Phoenix nine times this season. The Wranglers continue their long-time rivalry with Bakersfield, playing the Condors four times at home in 2008-09. Las Vegas and Bakersfield have played 41 regular season games, with the 50th all-time regular season match up scheduled for March 28th at Rabobank Arena. After meeting 11 times in 2007-08, the Wranglers and Phoenix RoadRunners will meet nine times this season, starting in Phoenix on November 3rd. The Wranglers will host the RoadRunners on November 8th, the first of four meetings at the Orleans Arena in 2008-09.

Las Vegas will also continue their storied rivalry with the Idaho Steelheads, whom the Wranglers have faced three of the last five seasons in the playoffs. Idaho and Las Vegas meet for the 45th time for two games at the Orleans Arena on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th. Idaho returns to the Orleans Arena for two games on March 13th and 14th.

The Wranglers meet the Stockton Thunder seven times this upcoming season. Las Vegas defeated Stockton in a six-game series in the first round of the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Thunder will play Halloween night at the Orleans Arena and the season finale on Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th.

Las Vegas will also clash with Utah eight times and meet Fresno seven times. Las Vegas will host Victoria for a three game set on January 23rd, 24th and 25th. The Wranglers will then travel to British Columbia for a three-game set February 4th, 6th and 7th.
