The Wings return home Sunday, August 28 for the final six home games of the regular season. Complete promotions details below...

The Bisons gained an early lead when lead-off batter Melky Mesa notched a triple off of David Hurlbut in the top of the first inning. The triple was Mesa's first of the season. Hurlbut succeeded in striking out the next batter, however; with one out, Matt Dominguez grounded out to first base, allowing Mesa to cross home plate. Entering the bottom of the first inning, Rochester trailed 1-0.

Hurlbut settled into a rhythm in the top of the second inning. He forced the first two batters to flyout to center field before Casey Kotchman notched a single. The hit extended Kotchman's hitting streak to eight games. During the next at-bat, A.J. Jimenez nailed a line drive at Hurlbut, but Hurlbut was able to react quickly and make the catch to wrap up the inning.

In the bottom of the second inning with one out, Adam Brett Walker secured the first hit of the evening against Bisons starter Casey Lawrence. With two outs, Walker stole second base in an attempt to put him in a better position to score. The stolen base was Walker's sixth of the season. Mitch Garver struck out swinging to end the inning, leaving Walker stranded on second base.

In the top of the fourth inning, Jesus Montero launched a single to left field for the Bisons. The single increased Montero's hitting streak to 11 games. During the next at-bat, Chris Colabello belted a hit into center field but he was thrown out at second base during his attempt for a double. During Colabello's at-bat, Montero advanced to third base, which put him in scoring position for Buffalo. With two outs Kotchman's grounder was fielded by Wilfredo Tovar and he was able to make a strong throw to first base for the final out of the inning.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a single to get the momentum started for the Red Wings. Walker pulled through once again for Rochester with a RBI double to the corner of left field. It was a close play at the plate, but Rodriguez was able to hustle around the bases in order to bring home the tying run.

The Wings put together a scoring bid in the bottom of the sixth inning. A one-out single by James Beresford, and a walk to Rodriguez put runners at first and second. Lawrence struck out Palka for the second out, and Walker went down swinging to strand the runners.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Leonardo Reginatto hit a two-out double for the Red Wings. With two outs and Reginatto in scoring position, Heiker Meneses grounded out for the third out.

In the top of the eighth inning, Jake Reed entered the game to relieve Hurlbut. Hurlbut worked seven innings with seven hits, one run, no walks and three strikeouts. He threw 74 pitches, 54 for strikes.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Aaron Loup was brought in to relieve Lawrence.

Lawrence pitched seven innings with five hits, one run, two walks and five strikeouts. He threw 90 pitches, 60 for strikes.

The Bisons took the lead against Pat Light in the top of the ninth. A two-out single by A.J. Jimenez drove in Colabello.

Bo Schulz took over on the mound with one out in the bottom of the ninth, and issued a walk to Walker to put the tying run at first base. Logan Schafer's single moved Walker to third, and Garver delivered a single up the middle to bring home Walker and tie the game at 2-2. Reginatto went down swinging for the second out, and a popout send the game into extra innings.

The Bisons put a lead-off runner on against Light in the top of the 10th, but three quick outs ended the scoring bid.

Tovar drilled a single off Schulz to open the Wings' half of the 10th inning. A perfect sacrifice bunt from Beresford moved Tovar to second base, then Rodriguez flew out to left field. On a 1-2 pitch from Schulz, Palka clobbered a two-run homer to right field to give the Wings the win.
