Mohegan Wolves News Release

The Wolves outscored the Brigade 25-0 in the first quarter en route to the teamÂ’s most convincing win in team history. Mohegan WR/LB and game MVP Kazmell Minott scored three touchdowns during the stretch, sparking the Wolves to a 57-20 victory at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Wolves win was just their second home win and fourth win overall in team history.

MinottÂ’s first two scores of the night came on the receiving end of rookie QB Rob HardingÂ’s first two throws of his af2 career. On the teamÂ’s first play from scrimmage, Harding hooked up with Minott for a 28-yard score. On the Wolves second possession, Harding found Minott again, this time with a 13-yard scoring pass. MinottÂ’s third touchdown of the quarter came on an 11-yard return run after a blocked field goal attempt by Rochester kicker Charles Eger. DS Allistair Sebastien also scored at the 7:35 mark of the quarter on a 48-yard interception return.

Fellow DS Andre Weathers also had a strong showing for the Wolves. In his af2 debut, the former New York Giant had two interceptions, and returned his second one 14 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

MoheganÂ’s two other touchdowns came on 1-yard runs from FB/LB LaJhon Jones and QB Ryan Tracey.

Rochester OS Derek Baker was the lone bright spot for the Brigade with four catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
