The Wolves posted a 5-2-1-0 mark and .688 winning percentage in October, the team's best opening month of a season since the 2007-08 squad went 6-0-1-0; after opening the season with eight games in a 16-day stretch from Oct. 13-28, the Wolves will play just six times over the next 20 days.

--- KEVIN CONNAUTON: Bagged his first two goals of the season last week, scoring in back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday ... Paces team blueliners and shares third overall on the team with 4 points (2G, 2A) in eight games this season ... Ranked sixth on Wolves and shared fourth among AHL blueliners with 13 goals and paced team rear guards with 33 points in 71 games last year ... Named to the Western Conference squad in the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic

--- ANDREW GORDON: Shared the team lead with 2 goals in three games last week ... Tied for third on Chicago with 4 points (2G, 2A) in seven tilts this year ... Recorded 3 assists and 5 points in 37 NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks last season ... Accumulated 5 goals and 6 assists in 29 AHL games with Chicago and the Syracuse Crunch during the 2011-12 campaign

--- JORDAN SCHROEDER: Notched 2 goals in three games last week ... Shared second on the Wolves with a career-best 21 goals and ranked third with a career-high 44 points while appearing in all 76 games last season ... Ranked fourth on the club with 23 assists and five power-play strikes

--- ZACK KASSIAN: Scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season on Saturday, all of which have been the game's first tally ... Shares first on the Wolves with 5 points (4G, A) in eight contests this season ... Tallied 10 points (4G, 6A) and 51 penalty minutes in 44 NHL games with Vancouver and Buffalo as a rookie last year ... Bagged 15 goals and 26 points in 30 AHL tilts with the Rochester Americans ... Represented the Western Conference squad at the 2012 AHL All-Star Game

--- MICHAEL DAVIES: Paced Chicago with 3 points (G, 2A) in three games last week after missing the team's first five tilts ... Tallied 11 goals, 13 assists, and 24 points in 53 games with the Wolves last season ... Ranked second on the squad with a +13 plus/minus rating

WOLF TRACKS

--- The Wolves have allowed an AHL-low one goal in the first period this season and that marker came in the team's seventh game of the season on Saturday against San Antonio.

--- Rookie center ALEX FRIESEN earned his first professional point with an assist on Saturday and followed it up with another helper on Sunday; he has collected 2 assists and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games this year.

--- Chicago held Grand Rapids scoreless in the third period on Sunday, which marked the first time since Opening Night on Oct. 13 the Wolves did not surrendered at least one goal in the final frame.

--- The Wolves open a five-game road trip on Friday in Rockford; the team's five-game trek is the second-longest road swing of the season.

--- Chicago surrendered four power-play goals on 10 chances to San Antonio on Saturday, which marked the most power-play goals allowed in a game since Nov. 16, 2010, when Texas netted five man-advantage markers.

--- The Wolves have scored the same amount of short-handed strikes and power-play goals this year (2); Chicago's power-play strike on Sunday snapped a zero for 20 slide on the man-advantage that dated back to Oct. 17.

--- Left wing BRETT STERLING shares the team lead with 4 assists, 5 points, and a +3 plus/minus rating in six games this season; all 5 of the 28-year-old's points have come on home ice this year.

--- The Wolves tied the score halfway through the third period, but the Grand Rapids Griffins bagged the game-winning goal in overtime to skate away with a 3-2 win at the Allstate Arena

--- Right wing ANDREW GORDON and defenseman KEVIN CONNAUTON lit the lamp for Chicago

--- Goaltender EDDIE LACK thwarted 34 shots in regulation and overtime

Saturday, Oct. 27

--- The Wolves exploded for six goals to earn a 6-5 victory over the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena

--- Forwards MICHAEL DAVIES (G, A) and BILL SWEATT (G, A) and defenseman BRAD HUNT (2A) netted multiple-point outings to pace Chicago's offense

--- Goaltender EDDIE LACK posted 24 saves

--- The Wolves surrendered four goals in the third period to drop a 4-1 Illinois Lottery Cup contest to the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena
