Chicago Wolves News Release

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Chicago Wolves completed a sweep of the San Antonio Rampage with a 2-1 win at AT&T Center. Brad Hunt's team-leading fourth point, which came at 10:26 of the third period, stood as the game-winning marker. Rookie goaltender Ville Husso picked up his first North American professional victory in just his second start, turning aside 29 shots.

The Wolves controlled the opening minute of the first period, which included a wraparound goal attempted by forward Kenny Agostino. Shortly after, the Rampage cycled the puck low in the Wolves zone, left wing Turner Elson carried the puck out of the right corner and poked it past Husso on the short side of the 1-0 lead at 3:05.

In the first four minutes of the middle frame, Brett Sterling netted his second of the season to knot the game at one. Defenseman Vince Dunn took a shot from the left point that Wade Megan redirected at the top of the crease. Standing at the right of the net, Sterling tapped the puck into a wide open net.

The squads traded chances throughout the rest of the second and early in the third. Sterling got another quality scoring chance, drawing a penalty in the final minute the second period. He beat goaltender Spencer Martin but shanked his shot of the crossbar.

Near the midway point of the third period, left wing Agozzino rushed up the right wing and lasered shot that Martin had to fight off. However, Agozzino stayed with the play, gathered the rebound and fed Brad Hunt near the center point. Hunt ripped home a shot for the go-ahead goal.

In just his second North American professional game, Husso stopped 29 of 30 shots to help his team to the 2-1 victory. His performance also included a couple key saves during the Wolves seventh penalty kill of the game in the final minutes of the game. Chicago's penalty kill was a perfect seven for seven.

The Wolves are back in action on Friday (Oct. 28) against their in-state rival, the Rockford IceHogs, in the first Illinois Lottery Cup clash of the season. Saturday (Oct. 29) the squads wrap up the back end of a home-and-home series at Allstate Arena.

Saturday's game also marks the Wolves annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. For more information about the Wolves BCA initiatives and tickets, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
