Mohegan Wolves News Release
NEW LONDON, C.T. (March 18th, 2002)- The Mohegan Wolves pre-season training camp officially opened today with team meetings held in place of practice. Practice was cancelled due to the inclement weather. Practice will begin tomorrow at Work Out World in Waterford from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The team will be practicing there all week depending on the weather. If the weather permits the team to practice outdoors they will be at Camp Oakdale in Montville, Connecticut. All Wolves practices are open to the public and all media is invited.
Head Coach Gary Porter had this to say about the opening of camp:
This is what we have all been waiting for. The chance to get the guys together as a group and see what we actually have coming into this first season is exciting. I think weve assembled an extremely talented group and a good core of experienced personnel to build this team around. I expect a lot of competition at the Quarterback, Wide Receiver/Linebacker and Defensive Specialist positions, but all positions are basically wide open. It should be an exciting and competitive camp.
The Mohegan Wolves will open up at home with a two game home stand, first versus the expansion Albany Conquest on April 5th and then against the Norfolk Nighthawks on April 12th. Both games are slated to start at 7:30 p.m. in the marvelous Mohegan Sun Arena. For further information on training camp as well as season ticket information call the Wolves offices at (860) 443-1900.
