Wolves Defeat Warriors in Protested Game

Santa Cruz, Calif - Michael Bryson recorded the steal and game-winning layup to seal a 113-111 victory for the Iowa Wolves (23-25) over the Santa Cruz Warriors (23-25) Friday night at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
A game the Wolves had initially won on Jan. 19 was successfully protested by the Warriors, resulting in the replay of the final 17.5 seconds of the game with the score tied at 111-111 and Santa Cruz in possession of the ball.
The Wolves trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half of the game originally played on Jan. 19.
Anthony Brown finished with a team-high 22 points, scoring all of his points in the second half on 9-of-12 shooting in the final 24 minutes of play. The former Stanford Cardinal also recorded six rebounds and five assists in the win.
As a team, Iowa shot 52.4% from the field in the second half, including 68.7% (11-of-16) from deep. The Wolves shot the long ball at a 59.3% (16-of-27) clip for the game, their best mark of the season.
Iowa also tied a season-high in assists, finishing with 30 on the evening.
Bryson finished with 14 points while shooting 5-of-7 from the field, including 4-of-6 from deep.
Two-way forward Amile Jefferson contributed 17 points and seven rebounds, missing out on a chance to tie the NBA G League record for most double-doubles in a single season.
Elijah Millsap posted 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field while pulling in eight rebounds off the bench for Iowa.
Minnesota Timberwolves first round pick Justin Patton finished with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists on the evening.
Former NBA G League All-Star Quinn Cook dropped a game-high 43 points for Santa Cruz, shooting 16-of-27 from the field. Cook was not available for the replay of tonight's protested game. Damion Lee contributed to the Warriors' cause with a 21-point, seven-rebound performance.
The Wolves will play their regularly scheduled game against the Santa Cruz Warriors following the conclusion of the protested game.
