Chicago Wolves News Release

HAMILTON, Ontario---A pair of goals from forward Michael Davies and a 23-save shutout from goaltender Matt Climie propelled the Chicago Wolves to a 3-0 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday night at Copps Coliseum.

Defenseman Kevin Connauton also scored for Chicago, which won for the ninth time in its last 12 outings.

The first period saw Chicago (23-15-3-2) get off to a blazing start with Davies doing a dump-and-chase on a puck right past the Bulldogs defense and beating netminder Cedrick Desjardins (7-13-2) top shelf to give the Wolves a 1-0 advantage 2:51 into the game.

That score was followed up 38 seconds later with a marker from Connauton, who tipped in a puck shot from the boards.

Leading 2-0 headed into the second, Davies came calling again quickly, duping the Bulldog defense and firing a wrister from the top of the circle past Desjardins at 2:28.

Following Davies second marker of the night the scoring would end as Climie was sharp in his return to the lineup after missing the past six games due to injury.

Climie (11-11-1) and the Wolves weathered the late pick-up in play by the Bulldogs (15-24-1-5) and notched their fourth straight win in Hamilton.

Chicago will visit the Toronto Marlies for a Saturday matinee with puck drop schedule for 2 pm at Ricoh Coliseum.
