WOLF PACK WEEKLY: March 20-26, 2017

The Wolf Pack (21-36-4-2, 48 pts., .381) came up just short in a pair of games in Hershey this past weekend, losing 4-3 in overtime to the Bears on Friday night and dropping a 6-4 decision on Saturday, despite battling back from a 4-0 deficit to make the score as close as 5-4. Matt Carey scored in both games for the Wolf Pack, and Taylor Beck had a goal and two assists Saturday night, after chipping in two helpers on Friday.

This week:

After finishing a season-high stretch of six straight road games with a visit to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday night (7:05 PM faceoff), the Wolf Pack return to the XL Center for a three-game home weekend. The Providence Bruins come to Hartford for a 7:15 PM game on Friday night and return at 5:00 on Sunday, and sandwiched in between is a Saturday date with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. That contest faces off at 7:00.

Tuesday, March 21 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, 7:05 PM

- The Eastern Conference-leading Penguins had a three-game winning streak snapped in their last action, a 3-2 home loss to Lehigh Valley on Saturday night.

- Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defenseman Barry Goers had the first three-point game of his AHL career last Friday against the Wolf Pack, with a goal and two assists in an 8-1 Penguin home victory.

- The Wolf Pack are 0-6-0-0 in the season series against the Penguins, 0-3-0-0 in three previous visits to Wilkes-Barre.

Friday, March 24 vs. the Providence Bruins (Pittsburgh) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM

- At this and every Friday-night home game this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period.

- This is "Social Media Night" at the XL Center. Fans are encouraged to bring their smart phones to the game and give the Wolf Pack a follow. The Wolf Pack will be giving away cool prizes and interacting with fans on social media throughout the game.

- The Wolf Pack have won the last two matchups with the Bruins, improving to 3-3-0-1 in the season series, and have taken two of the previous three XL Center meetings between the two teams.

- Providence enters the week hanging on to the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, despite having lost four of its last six games.

- Rookie forward Jake DeBrusk has four assists in the last two games for the Bruins, and is riding a four-game point-scoring streak (2-4-6).

Saturday, March 25 vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

- The first 2,000 fans at the game receive a free Wolf Pack jersey drawstring backpack, sponsored by ProHealth.

- This is the second-to-last of eight meetings on the year between the Wolf Pack and their in-state rivals the Sound Tigers, and the last of four visits on the season by Bridgeport to the XL Center. The Wolf Pack are 1-3-1-1 in the season series, 0-2-1-0 at home.

- Defenseman Devon Toews and forward Josh Winquist had two assists apiece for the Sound Tigers in the last game between the Wolf Pack and Bridgeport, a 5-2 Sound Tiger win March 12 in Bridgeport.

- The Sound Tigers have dropped four of their last six, and are 5-7-1-0 in 13 games since winning 15 out of 16 from January 15 through February 19.

Sunday, March 26 vs. the Providence Bruins (Boston) at the XL Center, 5:00 PM

- This is the last Wolf Pack "Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack" game of the season. The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $40.

- Also as at every Sunday Wolf Pack home game this season, the first 2,000 fans into this game will receive a "hockey bingo" card. The spaces on these cards contain possibilities that might happen in the game, and if they do, fans can fill in the spaces to win Wolf Pack bingo prizes.

- The Wolf Pack are 8-1-1-0 in their last ten home games vs. the Bruins, who are 16-8-3-3 on the road for the season.
