Wolf Pack Sign Goaltender Cameron Talbot To ATO

March 31, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Connecticut Whale News Release

HARTFORD, March 31, 2010: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have signed goaltender Cameron Talbot to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement.

Talbot, who agreed to terms on an NHL contract with the parent New York Rangers yesterday, is coming off of a year in which he backstopped the University of Alabama-Huntsville to a College Hockey America (CHA) tournament championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.

Talbot, a 6-3, 185-pound, 22-year-old native of Caledonia, Ontario, captured tournament MVP and All-Tournament Team honors at the CHA postseason tourney, after going 12-18-3 during the regular season for the Chargers, with a 2.60 goals-against average, a 92.5% save percentage and one shutout. His save percentage mark led all CHA goaltenders, and ranked sixth in the nation, and his GAA was second-best in the league. That performance was good for Second-Team All-CHA honors, and Talbot set Alabama-Huntsville single-season school records for games-played (33), minutes-played (1961:55) and saves (1,041).

In three years of play at U. Alabama-Huntsville, Talbot appeared in a total of 70 games, going 15-44-6 with a 3.03 GAA, a 90.9% save percentage and two shutouts.
