Wolf Pack Assign Two to Charlotte

October 29, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

Hartford, October 29, 2004: The Hartford Wolf Pack have assigned forward Dwight Helminen and right wing Lee Falardeau to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL. The move leaves the Wolf Pack with a roster of 23 players.

Both Falardeau (concussion) and Helminen (ankle sprain) suffered injuries during the Wolf Pack's training camp, keeping them out of the lineup for all of the club's exhibition and regular season schedule. They will join the Checkers who have started their season with a 2-0-0 record.

The Wolf Pack put their undefeated 4-0-0 record on the line tonight in Lowell against the Lock Monsters and take on the Portland Pirates in Maine on Saturday. The Wolf Pack play at home on Monday in their first-ever "EduSkate" game. The game is a regularly scheduled AHL contest, developed in cooperation with educational partners, which allows students to take an exciting, instructional and unique field trip to a Wolf Pack hockey game. The goal is to use hockey as a teaching tool for kids to learn about math, geography, science, fitness and more. The team is also encouraging anyone in the downtown area to come and enjoy lunch with the Wolf Pack. For $10, people coming to the game will also receive a voucher for a free slice of pizza or hotdog and a soda.

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
