Wizards crack the Red Claws

Bismarck, ND - Maurice Baker scored 16 points grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists for his first double-double of the season to lead the Dakota Wizards (10-20) to a 109-97 victory over the Maine Red Claws (12-18) Friday night at the Bismarck Civic Center.

Dakota once again used a big third quarter to pick up their third victory in a row. Leading 48-47 at the break, the Wizards would relinquish the lead to Maine on a jump shot by DeShawn Sims and trailed 53-52 early in the third quarter. Maine held the lead most of the quarter until Dakota went on a 12-2 run to end the quarter and take a 82-75 lead. The Wizards shot 57.1% from the field and 100% from the line compared to just 14.3% for the Red Claws from the line.

Dakota never looked back as they would lead the entire fourth quarter and cruise to the 109-97 victory and third in a row at home.

Maine guard Avery Bradley kept the Red Claws in the game in the first half as he scored 17 of his game high 25 in the half with 12 of those coming in the first quarter. Bradley would finish the game with a double-double of his own adding 10 rebounds to his totals

Both teams would struggle at the free-throw line as Dakota shot 21of 30 for 70% and Maine shot 19 of 28 for 67.9%

Anthony Goods was 3-6 from behind the arc ending up with 15 points. Javaris Crittenton made his Wizards debut scoring 10 points to go along with 7 assists and Chris Johnson returned to the Wizards line-up and recorded his 13th double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

Mario West added 20 points for the Red Claws and DeShawn Sims chipped in 18 points.

The same two teams return to action tomorrow night at the Bismarck Civic Center
