Burlington Bees News Release

Cameron Bedrosian struck out a season-high seven batters in three innings of relief, but the Burlington Bees committed three errors, leading to four unearned runs in a 4-2 loss to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Saturday evening.

Pat Lowery made his Bees (11-19) debut on Saturday and unfortunately the defense did not do him any favors, as the right-hander allowed two runs, both unearned in five innings of work. Lowery surrendered three hits and three walks, while striking out four.

The Timber Rattlers (16-16) loaded the bases with one out in the first, but Lowery struck out Adam Giacalone and got Mike Garza to ground out to end the inning. However, in the third, Lowery was not able to work around a couple of walks and an error. Alfredo Rodriguez led off the inning with a walk and went to second when Mitch Haniger reached on an error by Michael Bolaski. Victor Roache followed with a walk to load the bases and Giacalone hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Rodriguez and put Wisconsin on the board.

Wisconsin added another unearned run in the fourth when Bolaski committed his second error of the game on a grounder by Tyrone Taylor with two outs. The next batter was Rodriguez, who doubled home Taylor.

The Bees offense struggled against Austin Blaski, scoring just one run against him in 6.2 innings. The lone run came home when Jono Armold came in with Jonathan Walsh at first base with two outs. Armold balked Walsh to second and threw two wild pitches to allow Walsh to score. Burlington added one more in the the inning after a couple of walks, a stolen base by Chevy Clarke and an error trying to catch Clarke stealing third that allowed Clarke to score.

Cameron Bedrosian pitched in relief of Lowery and allowed two runs, both unearned in three innings of work, striking out a season-high seven batters.

Taylor Wall worked around a leadoff double by Wendell Soto to pick up his fourth save in as many chances.

The Bees and Timber Rattlers will battle in game two of the series at 1:05 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Field on Sunday afternoon. You can hear all the action on News Radio 1490 KBUR or gobees.com.
