Portland Winterhawks 1 at Kelowna Rockets 4 Prospera Place - Kelowna, BC - Saturday, January 21st, 2017

The Portland Winterhawks (22-21-1-2) fell by a score of 4-1 to the Kelowna Rockets (27-17-4-0) Saturday at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Joachim Blichfeld scored on the powerplay for the second consecutive game for the Hawks. Blichfeld, an 18-year-old rookie from Denmark, has picked up 14 goals thus far this season and is currently on a three-game point streak. The San Jose Sharks draftee is tied for sixth in the WHL among rookies in goal scoring this season.

The Hawks return home to take on the Kamloops Blazers at the Moda Center Tuesday in the game rescheduled from January 8. The Hawks will then head back on the road for trips to Everett Friday and Kelowna again next Saturday.

-1st per. @ 4:53 - The Rockets created a scramble and Tomas Soustal (Lind, Cowell) finally forced the puck across the goal line. (POR 0 - KEL 1)

-1st per. @ 14:00 - (PP) Joachim Blichfeld (Jones, Kehler) ripped a wrist shot glove side on the powerplay to tie the game at one after the first period. (POR 1 - KEL 1)

-2nd per. @ 11:07 - (PP) The Rockets take their second lead as Kole Lind (Twarynski, Southam) batted a loose puck into the net. (POR 1 - KEL 2)

-3rd per. @ 3:00 - (PP) It's Kole Lind (Foote, Thurkauf) again on the powerplay with a wrist shot to give Kelowna a two-goal lead. (POR 1 - KEL 3)

-3rd per. @ 15:45 - Braydyn Chizen (Soustal, Lind) scores on a slap shot from the right point to finish the scoring and give the Rockets the 4-1 win. (POR 1 - KEL 4)
