Winnipeg Jets Jacob Trouba Invited to Team USA World Junior Championship Selection Camp

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club is proud to announce that Jets prospect Jacob Trouba has been invited to the Team USA World Junior Championship Selection Camp. The 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship will be hosted in Ufa, Russia and will begin on December 26 and run until January 5.

Trouba,18, has played in 14 games with the University of Michigan so far this season. In that time, the Rochester, MI native has recorded 10 points (4G, 6A) and 44 penalty minutes. He was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round, ninth overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Trouba is one of three returning members of the 2012 U.S National Junior Team, including goaltender John Gibson and forward J.T. Miller. The 6'1 defenceman won the Gold Medal for Team USA in the 2011 IIHF World U18 Championship.

In total, 27 players will attend training camp from Dec. 16-1 at the New York Rangers' Madison Square Garden Training Center in Tarrytown, NY. An additional camp will follow in Helsinki, Finland, with the final 23-man roster announcement scheduled for Dec. 23.
