Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have selected University of Manitoba Bisons offensive lineman Geoff Gray with the eighth selection in the 2017 CFL Draft. Gray (6-6, 310, Manitoba, August 11, 1994 in Winnipeg, MB) was named the Canada West Outstanding Down Lineman of the Year, a Canadian university first-team all-star, as well as a Canada West all-star. He played in all 32 games with Manitoba (starting 30) as well six playoff games, playing both guard and tackle. "Geoff Gray is a fantastic athlete who can play multiple position on the offensive line," said Winnipeg Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. "Understandably, there is some risk involved with taking a player in his situation, however we feel with the status of our roster in terms of Canadian depth and Geoff's talents, it's something we feel comfortable with." Gray recently signed an agreement with the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
