WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International receivers Larry Pinkard and Ernest Smith.
Pinkard (6-0, 196, Old Dominion, Feb. 25, 1992 in Washington, DC) was a three-year starter at Old Dominion from 2011-2013. In his final season with the Monarchs, Pinkard caught 68 passes for 1,020 yards and nine scores. He finished his career there with 2,338 yards and 25 touchdowns on 160 catches. Those totals are good enough for second all-time in yardage at the school. Pinkard spent time in camp with the Packers and Raiders.
Smith (6-4, 210, Baylor, Mar. 18, 1988 in New Orleans, LA) played four seasons at Baylor, posting career highs as a senior with 360 yards on 39 catches. As a junior, he showed big-play ability putting up 175 yards and three touchdowns on just seven catches. Smith spent time in camp with the Chargers before starting ES3 Elite Training LLC, a football training organization. Smith most recently attended the club's free agent workout in Atlanta.
