LEXINGTON, KY - Dash Winningham knocked in two runs, but the Fireflies still fell to Lexington on Friday, 5-2. A pair of two-run Legends' home runs proved to be the difference at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Winningham leads the club with 27 RBIs. He drove in his first run of the night off of Lexington (23-25) starter Garrett Davila (W, 4-0) in the fourth inning. Michael Paez walked and then stampeded around the bases and scored when his teammate slugged the two-bagger.

At that point, though, Columbia (23-22) had fallen behind 2-0 after Emmanuel Rivera homered in the first. The Fireflies fell behind 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth frame when Khalil Lee smacked a two-run bomb off the right-center field scoreboard.

The teams traded runs in the late innings, but the Fireflies couldn't climb closer. Kort Peterson drove in a run in the seventh. The visitors loaded the bases with no one out in the eighth, but plated just one run. Winningham's groundout scored Desmond Lindsay.

Saturday's first pitch time between Columbia and Lexington is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Manager Jose Leger starts southpaw Jake Simon (1-2, 7.20) to toe the rubber against Legends righty Travis Eckert (2-2, 5.02).

You can listen to the action on ESPN Columbia 94.9 FM and 1230 AM, ColumbiaFireflies.com and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 6:15 p.m.
