Wings Stadium Planning Special Event During Hockey Weekend

Kalamazoo, MI- The Wings Stadium Complex, which is also home to The Annex and The Cube, announces The Annex will host a learn to play hockey clinic, Friday, February 15th at 6:30 p.m.

The event, which is open to kids 14 and under, coincides with Hockey Weekend Across the America presented by USA Hockey.

Wings Stadium has teamed up with Hockey Services and the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) for this FREE hockey clinic.

With equipment available for use, the only thing kids will need to bring is their enthusiasm to learn the sport of hockey.

The clinic will feature expert instruction, raffles, refreshments and a visit from the K-Wings' mascot Slappy.

"USA Hockey is having this weekend to celebrate the sport of hockey and we (Wings Stadium) feel there is no better way to commemorate this weekend then to introduce kids and parents to one of the greatest sports on Earth" said Ice Events Coordinator Jeff Weber. "We are utilizing our resources to create a unique and unforgettable experience for youth in Southwest Michigan.

Stadium Management Company owns the Wings Stadium Complex and the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games, 8,000 for festival seating events and 4,500 for reserved seating shows. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can seat up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as concerts, car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube is the newer of the three facilities and plays host to both ice and non-ice events. All three buildings are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
