September 29, 2008 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) - Kalamazoo Wings
Kalamazoo, MI- Wings Stadium, which is also home to "The Annex" and "The Cube", announces they are in consideration as a host for the 2010 USA Curling National Championships.
Nicole Joraanstad (Yourn-sted), a selection committee member and one of the top female curlers in the world will be touring the city and the Wings Stadium Complex this Wednesday, October 1st.
If selected to host the national championships for both men and women, the event will have a sizeable impact on the local economy. Area restaurants and hotels should be the most affected; however, all retailers should feel a positive trickle down effect from the week long extravaganza.
Wings Stadium is currently working with area leaders to ensure that the site visit showcases not only the largest indoor facility in Southwest Michigan, but all the tourist attractions that make Kalamazoo the perfect choice for the 2010 Curling USA National Championships.
