Boston, MA "" After tallying an astounding 10 goals and three assists in two games during the week of May 14, it should come as no surprise that Will Manny was named the MLL week four Warrior Offensive Player of the Week. Last year, Manny took home the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week honor during week six after a five goal, four assist effort against the Rattlers.
Let's take a look back at how Manny performed during week four of the MLL season.
The Cannons served the Chesapeake Bayhawks up their first loss of the year. Manny was named the Coca-Cola player of the game thanks to his four goals including his first two-point goal of the season.
The two-pointer was perfectly executed as he collected the ball off a Bayhawks turnover for a great heads up play. Manny glanced up, catching the Chesapeake net minder out of his crease and slung a rocket of a shot 30-yards away from the goal. The two-pointer generated a big Cannons rush which eventually led to the win.
Manny stayed red hot in the Cannons overtime victory against the Rattlers. His six goals, including another two-pointer, and three assists played a big part in the victory.
The Cannons found themselves down by six goals, but it was not time to panic. Manny scored four goals to erase the deficit in the second half. The last of Manny's three assists led to Davey Emala's game winner in overtime and enabled the Cannons to captured their third win of the season.
Through the first four games, Manny is leading all of Major League Lacrosse with 27 points including 15 goals and 10 assists. Kevin Rice of the Atlanta Blaze ranks second a good distance behind Manny with 20 points so far this season.
